Privacy Policy

Last updated 8 October 2026

Codinck BV is responsible for the personal data processed through videomakertools.com and our apps Drive Index, Slideit and Video Inspo. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it and what your rights are. Questions? Mail us at info@videomakertools.com.

01The short version

  • The website uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
  • Our visitor statistics are anonymous and run on our own server in Belgium.
  • Drive Index keeps your catalog on your own computer. We never see it.
  • We only receive personal data about you when you buy Pro or email us.
  • We never sell your data and we don't show ads.

02When you visit the website

Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc. To deliver a page, Vercel's servers process technical data such as your IP address, your browser type and the page you ask for, and keep it briefly in server logs to keep the website secure. The Drive Index downloads are served by Vercel as well. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a website that works and is secure.

To count visitors we use Plausible Analytics, which we host ourselves on a server in Belgium. It records which pages are viewed, where visitors come from (the referring website and country), the type of device and browser, and which downloads and outgoing links are clicked. It uses no cookies and stores no IP addresses or anything else that identifies you: your IP address is only combined with a code that changes every day to tell visits apart, and is then discarded. We use these statistics, based on our legitimate interest, to learn what works on the website.

03Cookies

We don't use cookies. The website places no cookies or similar technologies on your device and stores nothing in your browser, which is why it has no cookie banner.

Websites we link to, such as the Lemon Squeezy checkout, the App Store and Google Play, have their own cookie and privacy policies.

04When you buy Drive Index Pro

Lemon Squeezy sells Drive Index Pro on our behalf as merchant of record. It collects your name, email address, billing address and payment details, and processes them as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details.

Lemon Squeezy shares your name, email address, country, order details and license key with us, so we can deliver your license, help you with it and handle refunds. We need this to carry out our agreement with you, and we keep order records for as long as accounting and tax law requires.

05When you use Drive Index

Drive Index stores its catalog, settings and license on your own computer. Nothing about your drives or files is sent to us: the app has no tracking, no crash reporting and no automatic update check.

When you activate or deactivate a Pro license, and when the app checks that your license is still valid, it sends your license key and an activation name made from your computer's name (for example DriveIndex-Studio-iMac) to Lemon Squeezy. This lets you see on which computers your license is active and move it to another one. We need this to provide Pro under our agreement with you.

06Slideit and Video Inspo

Slideit and Video Inspo are not out yet. They will be available through the App Store and Google Play, where Apple and Google process your download and any purchase under their own privacy policies. Before the apps launch, we will add to this section exactly what they do with your data.

07When you email us

If you mail us, we use your email address and what you write to answer you and help you. We keep the conversation for up to two years after it ends, or longer if it relates to a purchase or a dispute.

08Who we share data with

We only share personal data where that is needed for the purposes above:

  • Vercel Inc. (United States), which hosts the website and the downloads for us.
  • Lemon Squeezy (United States), which sells Drive Index Pro as an independent controller.
  • Apple and Google, as independent controllers, when you get our phone apps from their stores.
  • Our email provider, which stores the messages you send us.
  • Authorities, but only when the law requires it.

Where data goes to a country outside the European Economic Area, such as the United States, it is protected by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We never sell personal data and we don't use it for advertising.

09Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to:

  • see the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it,
  • have it corrected if it is wrong,
  • have it deleted,
  • limit how we use it, or object to a use based on our legitimate interest,
  • receive it in a common format so you can pass it on to someone else.

Mail us at info@videomakertools.com to use any of these rights. We answer within one month. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can also file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, dataprotectionauthority.be.

10Children

Our website and apps are not aimed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has sent us personal data, let us know and we will delete it.

11Security

We protect personal data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, such as encrypted connections and limited access. No system is completely secure, so if a data breach ever puts you at risk, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.

12Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the website or the apps change. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change matters for you, we announce it on the website.
